Microsoft Office is one of the company’s most valuable assets. As expected, the company has been extremely cautious with each release. The office suite is definitely the most popular of its kind and has stayed a favorite for many years. It sure was eventful to see it come to Android last year, but so far we have yet to see a tablet version show up.
Microsoft is now readying the impending launch of the tablet-optimized Office for Android, which would include Word, Excel and Powerpoint. The Redmond giant is seeking testers for said software, according to “sources familiar with Microsoft’s plans”.

It’s a bit hard to join the private beta test, but it’s always worth a shot. You should be able to register from Microsoft’s Pre-Release Program website, which is currently under maintenance and displays the following message:
Thank you for your interest in Microsoft Office programs! We are in the process of updating our submission site and expect it to be back online soon. We will be accepting applications throughout the next several weeks and hope you return later in the week to submit your interest.
When released, we can expect the tablet-optimized Office apps to join the rest of the Office 365 suite. You will need a subscription to enjoy the suite’s benefits, but those who really value Microsoft Office will find it a great deal.
As for me – I will stick with Google Drive. Though I accept Office apps tend to be much more complex and full-featured, the simplicity of Google Drive is more than enough to get my work done.
